On the Christmas eve, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk made a heartfelt visit to the Kyiv-based center, one of eight institutions within the national network dedicated to providing free rehabilitation assistance to Ukrainian defenders recovering from injuries sustained at the front.
During the meeting, the frontman of the band “Okean Elzy” extended words of support and admiration to the soldiers. He underscored the contemporary significance of fostering love for one’s homeland and preserving culture amidst adversarial circumstances. Additionally, Vakarchuk extended warm holiday greetings to all patients and medical staff.
“I am very grateful to those who contributed to the creation of the center, and, of course, I am very grateful to all the doctors and staff who help our guys recover from their injuries. For Christmas and the New Year, I would like to wish you God’s protection and favor, and most importantly, good health. I wish you a speedy recovery and return to normal life. Let everything be good,” said Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, lead singer of the “Okean Elzy” band.
After a sincere conversation with the military, the singer played a unique live show. It included, in particular, the songs “Oberig”, “Vse Bude Dobre”, “Oh whose horse is standing” and “Chervona Ruta”. “When you see Ukrainian heroes and heroines in front of you, you sing for them even more deeply than usual, you try to convey energy, as if you want to help them heal,” recalls Svyatoslav Vakarchuk of the meeting and chamber live at the RECOVERY Center in Kyiv on the eve of the New Year.
The RECOVERY project was founded and is being implemented by Victor and Olena Pinchuk. Currently, 8 RECOVERY rehabilitation centers offer free services to military personnel in Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Odesa (two facilities), and in the Dnipropetrovsk region (two facilities). In total, more than 5,200 patients have already received rehabilitation assistance in the centers of the national network.
