Dnipro Launches the Second Phase of the Nationwide RECOVERY Rehabilitation Network Center
The RECOVERY Rehabilitation Center for wounded military personnel in Dnipro has doubled its capacity for treatment and recovery services. With the opening of the second phase, the center will now provide rehabilitation for over 1,200 Ukrainian soldiers annually—those who continue to defend the nation against Russian aggression.
The Dnipro Rehabilitation Center, which opened in 2023, was the first in the nationwide RECOVERY network, founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk to support Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces.
“Nearly two years ago, we launched our first rehabilitation center in Dnipro. Since then, we have expanded the RECOVERY network nationwide. The team here is remarkable—modern, energetic, and highly effective. I’ve visited many of our centers, and many refer to this one as a benchmark, saying, ‘We came here and actively adopted their best practices.’ This team’s exceptional work convinced us to further invest in its success,” said Victor Pinchuk, the founder of RECOVERY.
The RECOVERY initiative exemplifies successful collaboration between the private sector and the government, as philanthropists establish innovative rehabilitation centers within public medical facilities. As part of the second phase of the Dnipro center’s expansion, the inpatient unit has been enhanced with 20 additional beds. Each room is equipped with modern, multifunctional electric beds and furnishings designed for maximum patient comfort.
The facility is fully compliant with global standards of inclusivity, featuring wide doorways, zero-threshold entryways, non-slip medical flooring, handrails in hallways, and spacious accessible restrooms with shower cabins outfitted with seating and support bars.
Beyond expanding its inpatient capacity, the center has introduced state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment, a 24/7 nurse station, a physical rehabilitation hall, and offices for speech and language therapists, psychologists, social workers, and a large coordination room for the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
“We have become a true center of excellence, attracting multidisciplinary teams from various hospitals to learn from our practices and see how effectively our systems are designed and operated. With the opening of this second phase, I am confident we can assist even more Ukrainian soldiers standing against the aggressor,” said Dr. Alla Pivnyk, a distinguished physician of Ukraine and head of the Dnipro RECOVERY Center.
The RECOVERY center’s team includes specialists in physical and rehabilitation medicine, physical therapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists, assistants, speech and language therapists, and psychologists. Each patient receives an individualized rehabilitation plan supported by cutting-edge equipment, ensuring evidence-based, high-quality care.
To date, the 15 RECOVERY rehabilitation centers across Ukraine have provided free services to over 20,000 wounded soldiers. These centers are located in Vinnytsia, Dnipro (three facilities), Kyiv (two facilities), Lutsk, Lviv, Odesa (two facilities), Poltava, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernivtsi. By the end of the year, the network aims to expand to 19 centers capable of serving 26,000 military personnel annually.
